2. Single Sign On Very simple Ruby on Rails snippet

   Hello,
   I have been able to implement bare bones Wild Apricot single sign on steps in a blank Ruby on Rails project, thanks to Wild Apricot support! Please find attached a redacted and commented version of the code here for anyone who is trying to do similar with their own custom web app. This snippet prints out the ID of the user who is signed in.

3. Database format of guest that attend event based on sign in list so it can be entered in PC file

5. Monthly list of new users

   I am attempting to create a google doc for our Printing/Mail vendor to easy grab info on the members that renwed or signed up in the last 30 days. The idea is the vendor would just open this share google doc once a month, run the report, export the data.

7. Exit options for the email wizard

   It seems the only way to exit the email wizard after sending an email successfully is to click on the one link available to the email log. Alternatively, I wanted to get back to what I was doing, communicating with a member and updating his record.

   I suggest you look into exit options for the email wizard.

10. Launch Checklist

    1- First thing you need to secure is access to is your domain’s DNS settings or Zone Files. If you run a query at say DNS STUFF.Com – you can find out where your DNS is hosted: dnsstuff.com

    Notice that in the Parent section our public Name Servers listed as follows:
    emily.ns.cloudflare.com. | 173.245.58.155
    buck.ns.cloudflare.com. | 173.245.59.78

    So for our website CloudFlare.Com is where we host our DNS.

    2- Next, go to the Wild Apricot custom domain setup article < Click Here >
    Once in your DNS Zone Files, you will need to edit the following files:
    A) CNAME
    Name: www
    Value: sites.wildapricot.org

    B) A record
    Name: YourDomain.com
    Value: 96.43.192.222

    C) TXT record
    Name:YourDomain.com
    Value: v=spf1 mx include:wildapricot.org ~all

    3- Finally, you will need to set custom domains in the Wild Apricot settings for both www and non-www YourDomain.Com. You’d need to decide which of the two would be your primary or default primary.

    One thing to keep in mind is your MX or Email DNS Zone Files. As you may or may not know, Wild Apricot does not host or provide mail boxes/emails for your domain. So, please keep this in mind – so that you can either keep your existing Email provider or find a new one.

    My club conducts an annual auction which supports both silent and live components. Has anyone created an auction plugin or software that would integrate the Wild Apricot contact database and allow an auction to be administered from within the website?

13. Sample Excel File for API Connect to WA Make Available for Excel for MAC [14851]

    It seems that the Sample Excel file for importing data from Wild Apricot was developed in Excel for WIndows. The Import Data macro does not compile because of a Missing:Microsoft XML,v3.0 reference. This XML object is only available in Excel for Windows.

    Wild Apricot states that it will not be supporting this Excel file at all. That leaves out all MAC users.

    I have not been able to find any suggestions on line on how to run this Macro or replace the XML object.

14. Extend functionality of sample Excel file

    I will start this post off by saying that I am not a designer or coder, and that will probably be evident by my questions!

    I love the new contact record API and using the supplied Excel file I was able to pull our membership database.

    My question is this: Is it possible to set up the file to pull just members from a specific region or state and not the entire pool of members? The file for the full membership was around 6mb and took several minutes to run. I'd like to be able to narrow the query so that our officers can quickly download members in their regions. I see on the Fields tab where I can turn on and off particular fields, but I don't see how I can narrow down the search of a field. (Example: Field Name = Region, search and pull only results for Pacific Northwest).

    I now that once I run the full database I can sort by anything that I want, but I was hoping there would be a way that I could run a report for specific criteria making it quicker and a smaller file.

    Like I said, I am sure that my questions verified that I do not know what I am doing! But any help would be greatly appreciated.

15. VBA example of doing updates via API v2

    Does anyone have an example of doing updates via the new API version 2 in VBA? I was successfully able to make the PHP code work, but now want to do updates from an Access database.

16. Member Directory Not Updating

    So, the member directory is no longer updating:
