  1. Granite Starlight Theme Page Width

I'm not a designer nor developer but I"m hoping to be able to fix the width on the theme that i'm working with. I'd like for it to be 800px. I'm even happy with 919px, but am not sure where to make this global change.

If someone can include the code for that and where I need to make that change...(in theme override?) I'd really appreciate it.

  2. Is this possible?

    Hi everyone,

My client has engaged a designer to produce a design for her WA site, however it looks beyond my ability to customise Wild Apricot.

I'll be doing all the events/membership stuff in the engine room, plus I could do simple modifications to a WA theme.

They originally designed it to be used for a Wordpress site, but I'm not sure it can be easily incorporated into a Wild Apricot modified theme?

I've attached a screenshot link below.

    Screenshot https://my.syncplicity.com/share/lzlwv2skqd/JULIANNA_&_FRIENDS_WEBSITE-_HOME_PAGE_1-01

The original graphics are in a psd file.

If its not easy to do, I'd like to find someone…

  3. Remove 'Upcoming events'

How can I remove or replace the label 'Upcoming events' which appears on all events pages?

    Thanks,

  4. Make Granite conform to a fixed width

Seems like Granite has variable width for header/content/footer.

I'd like to use a fixed width... haven't been able to find this in the CSS.

Has anyone out there dealt with this or can point me in the right direction ?

    Thanks!

  6. Turn off Export and Email Buttons on Contacts and Members

Does anyone have a way to disable the export and email buttons on the members and contact page? I'm interested in doing this for the read only admin role in WA?

  7. Change default widget behavior?

    Hi there.

I moved all of our Wild Apricot site's pages into our main (non-WA) website via widget iframes, hoping we could have our users come to one site for all of their needs, but I have run into a problem with the discussion/blog/forum widget. What happens is that the widget for the discussion page loads each link to a topic, and from there each link to a post, in the same window (with the same url). So this would be a nice feature except that it doesn't allow us to give a link to a post in a newsletter…

  8. Preventing the header image from repeating on the Granite theme

The Granite theme will repeat the header image horizontally by default. Although this is useful for tiled images, it does not look nice for single header images.

    Add this CSS to Settings > CSS Customization to disable the horizontal repeat: #idHeaderContainer .d1 .d2 { background-repeat: no-repeat; }

  9. Accessing Basic.css and Theme.css

How do I download or view these two files? I don't see them in the /resources/Theme folder.

    I find user.css and customStyles.css there.

    Thanks

  10. WA widgets from an external site working but look bad

    Greetings,

I'm using the WA back end with an external site. The widgets work but the display doesn't look good. The iframe shows part of the WA header in the display. Here's a link so you can see what I'm talking about (all you'll see is a log in dialog):

    http://66.147.244.109/~ifcaonli/wordpress2/?page_id=2345

Note the orange bar. That is part of the header that used in the current WA look and feel, which we're linking to. If you scroll to the right, you can see blue and green bars also. Can I get rid of that? I guess I could change the…

  11. Submenu width too narrow - truncating type

I'm using Starlight Granite theme, originally a liquid layout. I've changed the theme to a fixed width layout, to preserve size and placement of images on home page.

However, the submenus are not wide enough to fit all my type. According to WA support, there was a bug, and they sent me a piece of CSS code, which did not work, due to my adjusting the theme from liquid to fixed.

So I'm reaching out to the user community, especially those CSS experts, to determine if I can set my submenus to a wider width, and still retain my fixed…

  12. adding slideshows

    http://help.wildapricot.com/display/DOC/Adding+animated+slideshows

I am attempting to add animated slideshows and read the above documentation.

I installed the plugin, uploaded the files, but am lost when it tells me....

"To do that we need to edit the Head.tpl file in our Theme Overrides and then upload that file to our Theme Overrides folder."

Where do I find the head, tpl file? I opened each folder in my theme over ride and can't find this file. I've been using Wild Apricot for a year now with a new client and they love it, as do I. However, it's time to take the site to…

  15. Limiting the size of the multi-line text field

By default, the multi-line text field has a limit of 3000 characters.

With some Javascript code, this limit can be reduced. The following code will limit the field to 500 characters. Change the boxlength value to set your own limit.

Insert the following code under Settings > Global Javascript:

    <script type="text/javascript"> var boxlength = 500; if(document.getElementsByTagName('TEXTAREA')){ var txts = document.getElementsByTagName('TEXTAREA'); for(var i = 0, l = txts.length; i < l; i++) { var func = function() { if(this.value.length > boxlength) { alert('Maximum length exceeded: ' + boxlength); this.value = this.value.substr(0, boxlength); return false; } } txts[i].onkeyup = func; txts[i].onblur =…

  18. Editing the default english labels to change them into french

    Hello everybody.

I am having difficulties to find a good soul ready to tell me how to edit the text labels so i can make an french version of my site. I am aware of the toggler, however WA keeps bouncing me back to consultants to change a few text strings. If the toggler exists it(obviously) means the text can be edited by the user.

I am not a website programmer(i used to do a lot C , assembler, structured text, Basic, etc,,) in my developper's years. I believe I should be able to change text in the templates if somebody…

  19. Revise css for editing overlay

I changed a fluid layout to a fixed layout, via css, with a centered layout. Now the dotted boxes that comprise the editing overlays are out of alignment to the new fixed layout.

Does anyone know which css file controls the editing overlays? I've been told by Customer Support that these overlays can be edited.

    Thanks!
