Sorry for the late update.
The first step was finished and emails can now be carbon copied to contact’s alternative emails. To do so the contact fields which store the alternative emails must be explicitly marked on the email setting page.
Unsubscribing will unsubscribe all alternative emails simultaneously because they all belong to the very same account. The person clicking “unsubscribe” is warned about this on the unsubscribe page.
For now we paused the development of this feature. but not for good. :) So I’m changing this wish status back to “collecting comments”.
Thank you everyone for a valuable feedback.

An error occurred while saving the comment Ray Turner commentedWe (and many others I think) use the calendar year for membership renewal. That means we are sending out reminders during the holiday season and the expiration notice goes out on New Years Day. People are especially busy at this time of year and we are not surprised when many ignore these reminders or postpone action. Since the reminders can all be turned off by un-checking a box, having more would be very nice. More before expiration and/or more after. One before would be helpful. Perhaps after - an option could be to send a reminder weekly until they renew or the period of grace runs out. If not weekly/periodically, at least one or two more e-mail options. As it is, after expiration, we have set 90 days to send the last reminder but it also changes status to "former member", so there are really no reminders after expiration until someone is no longer active and, hence, cut our from services.
It could also be useful to send an e-mail upon expiration to that members "supervisor" who could take additional action. I can appreciate this might be complex and somewhat specific to our database.

We also need this as membership is by family and spouses often need separate emails.
