1. Editing the default english labels to change them into french

   Hello everybody.

   I am having difficulties to find a good soul ready to tell me how to edit the text labels so i can make an french version of my site. I am aware of the toggler, however WA keeps bouncing me back to consultants to change a few text strings.If the toggler exists it(obviously) means the text can be edited by the user.

   I am not a website programmer(i used to do a lot C , assembler, structured text, Basic, etc,,) in my developper's years. I believe I should be able to change text in the templates if somebody shows me how to find the files & what is the easiet way to edit them.

   If I can't change these labels I simply can't use the WA software and will need to restart my product evaluation

2. Blog Excerpts Cut Off

   Hi, I'm setting up a site with a customized theme. I'm running into an issue on the blog page where the excerpt of a specific post is getting cut off (see the screen shot below, just above the Read More | Add Comment links). I use the Firebug extension in Firefox, but haven't been able to figure out where in the CSS the size of the excerpt box is controlled.

   Is there a way to fix it? Ideally, I'd like to make it just stretch to whatever the size of the post is.

   I'm using a customized version of the Transparent Horizontal theme.

3. Can I just pay someone to build a slideshow gadget for me?

   I would like a slideshow on my home page where each image is hyperlinked to a certain page. I looked up the the Nivo slider instructions and it is over my head. It will take me days to figure it out.

4. Build in 5.0 before launching?

   I want to build my old WA site in 5.0 BEFORE launching it live. Is there a way? So far it seems as if I choose a new theme it converts live and no real time to work on it and have a nice "reveal".

5. Display select member information

   We'd like to show a selection of member information on a page. We'd like to show names, phone numbers for certain people. Our logic would be member selects a radio button, yes or no, for a service. For example, showing all members names and contact info for those who have checked yes for "do you need a ride?"

   Is there a way to do this?

6. Keep 2nd Level Navigation in Navbar

   I'm using the Transparent Horizontal theme (a highly customized version). When I visit any page on the second level of navigation, the sibling pages are all listed at the top of the page, rather than as a dropdown menu in the navigation bar.

   Is there a way to keep all navigation inside the dropdown menu and not as a bar on the top of the page?

7. Domain Name Issues

   okay ... so I'm trying to set up my domain ... i've changed the DNS managment IP address to: 206.196.16.30.

   Domain name management, it says I need more info like SPF .... how do I know what to do with SPF, or where to get the SPF information?

8. Menu Color Changes

   Hey there, trying to change the font color and background color of the submenu when the parent is clicked so not the flyout menu ... like if I Click 'Accommodations', under that the level 2 options would be 'Hotels', 'B and Bs' and 'campgrounds' and then the level 3 form those would be the actual accommodations.

   I used:

   But I obviously don't know what I'm doing. Any help?

   Is there a document somewhere that lists all the classes and such? I do I use an inspector everytime?

10. Remove Spaces Left from Registration Link

    Hi All,

    The CSS Customization method found in the help files removes the 'Spaces Left' from the displayed list of events, but if one clicks to register for an event, the 'Spaces Left' count is still there.

    How do I force the count to stop showing anywhere, yet still have a limited number of spaces?

11. Nicasio Design & Development ROCKS!

    I just want to let all Wild Apricot clients know that my experience using Felix and Nicasio Design and Development is unbelievable. They are a Wild Apricot partner and totally understand exactly what it means to be a non-profit with limited resources. Felix and his colleagues helped our new organization with some javascript coding that was necessary to facilitate unique privacy issues we were facing with our members based upon the way the levels of membership are setup in our bylaws. If you ever need help with CSS, Javascript, web design or other programming and coding issues, I recommend using them. Their fees are extremely reasonable and fit into any assocation's budget. 12. Members connecting thru LinkedIn integration, eHarmony-like interface

    I'm hoping some folks have some ideas for us. This may be too big for "wishlist" and maybe there is a workaround that I'm not seeing.

    We have two big things we'd like to do with our membership via our WA site:

    1. Create a robust membership directory without asking our members to recreate the wheel. Most of our members are on LinkedIn and have spent considerable time building profiles there. We'd love to be able to integrate with LinkedIn so that when one member is surfing the member directory, she'd see the info included in another member's LI profile. We find that our members do not want to invest the time and energy into recreating that kind of profile for "just" our directory.

    2. Create a eHarmony or OKcupid-like interface for connecting members for mentoring and coaching relationships. We have a boring questionnaire that we use to get the information from members and we even recently "upgraded" it to a SurveyMonkey survey so it's an "online application" for mentoring/coaching, but we'd love to be able to build it into the WA system so that the info is stored within member records, there is some kind of facilitated communication, etc. We don't necessarily need it to be automated like the dating sites, but we'd like that kind of interface. This one might be pie-in-the-sky, but I'd love to know if anyone out there is doing anything like it.

13. Remove Hyperlink for Authors in Blogs and Forums

    In any blogs and forums I would like to remove the ability for members and the public to click on the author's name and be able to go to the author's profile. I only want to list their name as an author. Is there a way to do that using CSS code? Thank you in advance.

14. background images in the navigation

    I have a left navigation menu, and would like to put separate background images in each menu item (not a single background image for the whole menu). I do not have any subpages, just the main level of links. I've done this before with a spry menu but can't figure out where to insert the backgrounds in all this CSS. Please help if you can! Thanks.

15. CSS customization of site

    Here is my problem:

    The way that we are utilizing the Wild Apricot site is as a membership management site. We have an existing website that we are integrating some of the widget pages from WA, into. This means that for the most part, I simply need to modify many of the style settings of the widgets, to match the style of the existing website.

    At one point, I thought that I had done this. Then, somehow, the theme was changed. Now, the colors and text are different. I have literally put off going in to fix this because every time I do, and every time I download the CSS template for the theme that I have selected, I freeze up.

    When I look at the template and see that between the div for the content wrapper and the div that contains the content, there are 9 intermediate div's, I get lost. Then, when you look at the template, even as commented as it is, it is almost impossible to figure out what you have to change in order to get the colors correct. I am confident in my skills with html and css. I built our existing website from the ground up, including styles. I just feel that the current style model is WAY to complex, to the point of being almost UNUSABLE. I understand that much of the reason for having the nested div's is to provide as many customization options as you can for your customers. I am willing to state that the customizations available on WA, could be done much simpler. A simple web search reveals web sites with large numbers of templates, using pure html/css that are just as complex in many ways, and use 1/3 the number of divs in each area.

    The other problem that I have is the disconnect between the editing options related to parts of the header, footer, and and menu bars, text and links, and the styles for the rest of the website. All styles NEED to be together, as do all html modifications. I think if you made this simple change, the satisfaction level would increase and stress level would decrease of all people trying to integrate WA into their current website.

    My proposal is this:
    
    * If there is going to be a section to edit the look and feel of the site, presented in a wizard format like the editing options for header, menu and footer, then ALL style options should be presented that way as well.
    
    * Change the area to modify CSS. Having to download the template, then find the sections that you want to change, cut that out and upload it into the Customize CSS window is clumsy and confusing. Allow someone to download the CSS template, modify it and upload the entire thing to preview changes, then apply them to the site. Having to cut out sections and paste them somewhere else is confusing because you lose the context of where they fit to the rest of the template.
    * Combine this area with where you choose and apply a theme. Having to switch between each of these things makes me lose track of where certain parts are kept, where I was last, and what I still need to change.

    If someone has already suggested something like this, then please merge this comment with that request. I have been working with WA for almost 2 years now, and it has been AWESOME. I can't express enough how great and responsive you all have been. That being said, this area is a HUGE stumbling block, to the point that I get frustrated every time I think about it. I have not attempted to fix it because I honestly don't have time to sit and parse through the CSS template to find the correct style sections to cut out, paste in the Customize area, and then modify.

18. Change widget width for one instance

    I would like to change the widget width of this embedded event for this ONE page/site only. I do not want to change the default as explained here http://prbaflorida.org/events/webinars . I only need to change it so it fits within this Joomla sites page width where I am embedding it. I have tried adjusting the width from the default widget script as shown below but it does not really work.Can I make it fit and lose the scrollbars? Thank you in advance for your help.

19. Lightbox functionality?

    Has anyone implements lightbox functionality on a Wild Apricot website? Our existing AMS has a lightbox capability that I am "using" in our pages to pop a video. I don't need to do it exactly the same way, but when I try to use an embed code for a video into a Content or Custom HTML gadget, only a black box is shown. I can use a link href, but that pops a window or tab and I prefer not to do that.

    I'm sure others have displayed videos. BTW, this is not Youtube, Vimeo, etc. The embed code uses wistia:
