    Yes, this would b e a good feature. Our club currently uses Google Groups to send event information to members who opted in. There has been some misuse of the Google Groups mail by past members who were given access and one general security breach that was promptly fixed.

    Our use would be for smaller events without registration where we have a Word Press calendar on a different server visible on a WA page in an iframe. There can be about 400 such events a year so we made it easier to setup an event compared to the WA Event. In our case we have about 50 group leaders who send a short message to about 60% of our members.

    We also use the WA events for larger events with registration.

    Ideally the feature should be available only to members authorized in a select group. WA group participation could be used as the mode for authorization.
