We need this functionality too. Currently have a number of custom Membership fields that we'd like to be populated on Event registration forms.
I note that custom Contact fields can be included in the Event registration form. We could convert all our custom Member fields to Contact fields, but these are not appropriate fields for contacts, and only apply to members.
