The renewal emails go out to everyone, regardless of autorenewal status. The "official" fix is to duplicate all the member levels having both autorenew and non-autorenew types, which is cluttered and annoying. Having access to the macro (which exists elsewhere) for autorenew status to include in the automated emails will allow us to have the emails automated. All the other solutions from WA are manual (export members, query for autorenew, import that list into some other email program, yada yada....) This doesn't seem like it should be that difficult to implement and wouldn't break other things. Thanks.

Sigh, this is STILL an issue? The official WA fix is to duplicate all the membership levels with autorenew and non-autorenew types OR to export the members then search for autorenew and manually email. Both of these are ugly and shouldn't be necessary. See also the request to expose the AUTORENEWAL macro for the renewal emails (available in regular email, just no in the automated renewal ones) so that the text can inform members if they are on manual renewal and need to act.
