Until we have what we call Automated Teller Machine (ATM) using your bank debit cards to withdraw funds from the machine.
Then, each bank has theirs and which you cannot use your bank debit card to operate in other different banks ATM machines because they has not be what we call InterSwitch.com.ng
This company handles payment processor with banks and merchant customers in Nigeria. With their help many programmer started developing payment gateways for online transaction and you can payment with Credit Card and Debit card both local and international cards are now accepted in Nigeria.
Coming to Cameroon have not seen or heard about all these integration in their banks. In Cameroon you cannot use ECOBANK Debit card to withdraw funds from UBA ATM machine or Cameroon Commercial Bank ATM machine.
With these absent it will be hard or not possible to accept debit card from different banks for online payment gateway design for Cameroonian.
In summary Cameroon cannot have their own payment processor gateway if there is no online connectivity between all banks in Cameroon or somehow.
I have developer that can develop payment gateway but there is no payment processor in Cameroon. Well, that what Cameroon financial institution have to do.
I have my WEB Hosting Company (SlayHost.com) registered in Nigeria and wish to extend my sales to Cameroon as I am currently reside in Cameroon temporary.
I think what I just say may be the problem while Cameroon do not have Payment gateway and Payment processor company or correct me if I am wrong.
