  1. Build in 5.0 before launching?

I want to build my old WA site in 5.0 BEFORE launching it live. Is there a way? So far it seems as if I choose a new theme it converts live and no real time to work on it and have a nice "reveal".

  2. Slideshow Gadget - Image alignment help needed

    Hello-

Our site uses the Slideshow Gadget which shows a rotating selection of photos. The photos are not consistent in their proportions, with some being square and some either horizontal or vertical. The default behavior of this element positions the vertical images at the top left of the gadget and the horizontal or square images are centered in the element. What I would like is for all the images to be aligned to the top left corner of the element so that their tops are valign top (I'm an old school coder with limited css abilities.)

    Choosing Fixed Height unnecessarily…

  6. Mobile Responsive Development For Your Wild Apricot Site

One of the best things Nicasio Design can offer its clients is solutions to common challenges. Take the increasing number of visitors to sites on mobile devices. How does an organization keep up with this challenge and not increase costs [too much] for make their site responsive?

One thing we do is make an existing site respond a certain way to mobile browsers. Take this website for example - http://www.floridamindfulness.org we created a custom responsive rendering of the site at certain breakpoints for mobile phones and tablets.

  8. Customize payment details

Perhaps I'm missing something, but it looks like I can customize the payment email that is sent out when a member makes a payment, but the payment details page is not customizable as far as I can tell. That is the one that members can access through their profile. I have payment emails disabled from our website, because they already get a payment email from PayPal.

I'd prefer that our members be able to access the email that would have been sent from their profile, but instead they only see a very limited amount of information on the payment details…

  10. Navigation Bar

    Hi,

I'm transferring an existing site over to Wild Apricot. The existing site have different colored background images for each navigation link. Is this possible to do in Wild Apricot?

    Thanks!

  11. Customizing Public Member Profiles

I am evaluating WA for a client that is considering using it and am trying to get a grasp on how much we can customize the site.

CSS and JavaScript can take you only so far so I am looking at theme overrides and the first thing I tried to do as a test case is to change the layout of the individual member profiles on the public-facing pages, which will be one of the requirements of the actual site. So I downloaded the theme and looked through both the files and the documentation on the site, but for the…

  12. Hide inaccessible forums on the forum summary page

I've been playing with the preview of my site in the new Version 5, and I'm happy that now I can restrict pages based on group status.

I am looking for a way to hide forums that are inaccessible to certain members. Currently I use three forum categories: Members, Committees, and Board. All the forums are only accessible to members who are logged in.

The Members category has two forums (General Discussion; Job Postings). Those should show up to all members who are logged in and not to the general public.

The Committees category has about 20 forums for the…

  13. Customize membership application

I would like to customize the membership application so that it will seamlessly integrate into my client's site. Questions:

    1) Is the membership application contained in the downloadable theme files, or is it not available to edited because it's functional? Is there a way to edit it's appearance?

    2) Can I make the "cancel" button return to the application rather than to the Wild Apricot homepage (which I don't intend anyone to ever see)?

    Thanks.

  14. random image generator

Just building our WA site now, hopefully launching with version 5 release.

We take ads and the advertisers pay on a percentage view basis. On our current site I'm using a javascript that works well. So I've tried placing the script in a /js/ folder in the file management system, and calling it from the HTML. I have to place it on individual pages because some ads only go on member-only pages.

Problem is, every time I save the page, the link to the script gets stripped out. I go back to the HTML and it's gone.

    Any suggestions?

  15. Change text on "Renew until..." button in Profile

Is it possible to change the text that is currently being displayed in the "Renew Until" button showing on our member profiles?

For example, a member has a "Renewal due on" date of 01 Jul 2014. On her profile page, there is a button that says "Renew until 01 Jul 2015". I'd like to change the button to say something like "Pay dues through 01 Jul 2015" .

I've used the Global Scripts change the label on the "Send Message" button. Is there similar code for this button?

    <div class="actionButtonContainer"><input type="submit" name="ctl00$ContentArea$MemberProfile1$Membership$RenewalButton" value="Renew until 01 Jul 2015" onclick="javascript:WebForm_DoPostBackWithOptions(new WebForm_PostBackOptions("ctl00$ContentArea$MemberProfile1$Membership$RenewalButton", "",…

  16. Adding quick-access buttoon menu

    Hello all!

I am using a theme with the navigation menu above the header, so I would like to create a quick-access button menu on the main page. I am using the html button tag as follows (verified with w3c school) as:

    <a href=page address><button type="button">Join Now!</button></a>

Upon saving, the code is rearranged to have the </a> directly following the <a>, sometimes tripling the <a>page address</a> elsewhere in the string. The button appears, but it does not link to the page.

    Any ideas?

  19. membership field question

If I create a dropdown list with one option being "Other", is it possible for "Other" to trigger a text box "If other..." so that the user can specify what Other is?

  20. Enable drop down navigation on active item

I'm working on a new site design with the Transparent - Horizontal theme and theme overrides. This design uses the drop down navigation and some on page navigation in place of the second level navigation, which is hidden. This is working well, except that by default the drop down does not work on the actively selected top level navigation item. Is there a place in the theme where I can alter this to allow the actively selected menu item to continue to offer a drop down when selected?
