Seems silly to me that all event email announcements are disabled after the event starts. I have a multi-day event that I want to send reminders for. As it is, I have to keep moving the start date to the future so that I can send new emails. Additionally, not being able to schedule the time the emails go out is strange. If I want to schedule a reminder an hour before the event, I have to reset the start date to be an hour before.

This would be a great feature, but what I'd REALLY like to see is an open source plug-in model (a.k.a Wordpress) so that we could all start bulding our own enhancements instead of having to wait for the company.

OK. Too bad need to work around what seems like such an important feature of any membership system.... getting members to renew easily!!

I know this is old post, but I don't get the impression that this was ever addressed.
The solution already exists!
Today, members and guests alike can pay for Events in Wild Apricot without logging in. Their payment gets associated to an email address. So, we could fake what we want by setting up an Event called "Renew Membership". Login is optional. So, why can't WildApricot just build that same kind of option on top of membership functionality? Don't log them in. There is no security issue.
All the additional money was are now spending on WA and yet they seem unable to address the most basic usability issues in the membership software. How hard is it to program a checkbox enable/disable auto renew?!!
