We're considering to take Donations during registrations/applications into development right now, but during analysis of the feature we ran into an issue where we would love to hear your feedback.
Essense of question: how would you like donations during applications or registration to be processed for offline payments (when your member/prospect decided to get an invoice and pay later)?
Some more details:
We can implement donations during event registrations/membership renewals for online payments - not a problem.
But when we're talking about offline payments, straighforward solution seems to be a bit expensive - we don't have invoices for donations or pledges yet.
So right now we're considering going on with straighforward online payments solution (donation will be added to payment transaction) and for offline payments - just include an invoice memo to buyer to add $XXX to his payment as donation for event/membership he has selected.

I should mention that WA does have the capability to implement single sign-on service. See https://gethelp.wildapricot.com/en/articles/200-single-sign-on-service.
We may do that eventually, but the fact is most of our members have no desire to edit their own boat information and photos. We are small enough that they can just email me their particulars and I configure their "Yacht Register" page for them. So very few actually have a login ID for our Drupal site.

We maintain a separate Drupal website with boat information, and then provide a url field in the WA database to link each member to a boat on the website. That way owners can change boats, etc. As Evgeny says, its seems like this would be like adding a whole separate membership database. I’d be surprised if it would be worthwhile for WA to do. The biggest limitation with our system is that members need separate login credentials for each site. Our next step is probably to abandon the WA side and incorporate membership into our Drupal site. We’re looking into this request in much broader context – we want to simplify overall management of contacts, lists, saved searches. Saved search should be perceived as smart lists and provide quick access to various contact and member groups.

This seems like a fundamental need -- something every organization should have. For example, how are others handling postal mailing labels? We have a large number of fields that aren't needed for just printing mailing labels, which is done by various people with a variety of skills. It's confusing to them to have this huge spreadsheet with all the fields. I would love to be able to have saved searches that could be used, with the various regions as options, and without all the extraneous information.
