For larger membership amounts, we want to support the concept of a "down payment". This is also helpful for people that have corporate match programs. We ask them to pay a smaller non-charitable portion and then wait for the charitable portion to come via a corporate match program.
NOTE: we still have the setting to require approval before activating a membership. This allows us to make sure the "minimum" amount was paid. Our workaround is very manual, requiring manual invoices added after the fact.

Updated title to reflect that it’s not just about levels copying – which is about adding new levels, but also about copying of (some) settings from one level to some or all others

Any updates from Wild Apricot? The system allows the admin to "record" a partial payment against an invoice. Why can't the member make a partial payment against the invoice directly?
