Classifieds gadget (i.e. Job Board )

Current behavior:
Blogs or forums are repurposed to serve as classified ads/job boards, however they have serious limitations that prohibit them from being suitable solutions.

Desired behavior:
Self-service (e.g. searchable, browseable) classified ads system for members and visitors, with administration tools to moderate and manage entries/permissions.

        So what's happening with this idea of a Job Board gadget? I see lots of requests for it dating back to 2015 but no response or action from WA...

        We are an association of real estate Investors who have Properties for sale. This function could work to list Featured Properties. A form allowing Members to upload their own Properties would be great if it required certain fields and allowed for multiple pictures.

        We would love to explore the idea of having a jobs page. This is a good way to build rapport among other organizations as well as earn income (if we choose to charge for posting jobs). Do you see this as an option in future software upgrades? Thanks!

        Would be ideal to have a form to assure sufficient information is collected for each help wanted or job wanted.

        For help wanted, should include:
        * Job title
        * Company name
        * Job location
        * Respond by date
        * Contact name and phone and/or email.
        * Job description (Perhaps split between Job responsibilities and Job Qualifications)
        and optional Salary range

        For Job wanted, should include:
        * Name
        * Contact phone and/or email
        * Position type sought
        optional salary range
        Details
        Resume upload

        It would be great to have a Career center, much like a blog page with job specific details in a form. Would be great if members could login to get member specific pricing while non-members would not be able to login and would pay more. This would be one feature that would really streamline our career postings process and help us gather member vs non member postings.

        To have a job posting page on our website with time limits. We enter in the duration the posting should be viewed by the public but the posting automatically disables after the closing date. Similar to how the Events Page works – at the conclusion of the event, the event becomes disabled.

        We are a community organization (Homeowners) and our member are asking for a Services Directory where they can post and share "local trusted services"........like Angie's list for the members.

        Just wanted to suggest that if this was implemented as a generic directory or database then it could have many uses such as Job Ads, Resource Directory, Websites Directory etc.

        Kill many birds with one stone. Make lots of people happy - including myself - I would like a Resource Directory.

        This sounds great. We currently use the Forum gadget as a buy and sell. Implementing this wish would give more focused function.
        Three comments:
        - the charge to place an ad should be a decision, the amount settable
        - Can we have the decision to pay split between member groups (i.e. members post ads for free, non-members pay)?
        - need to be able to attach documents/photos/links to the ad posting

        My community advertises items including homes for sale or lease. Ideally it would be part of the member option. Using a form that drops the info into a Classified column automatically. When the sale is complete then the member takes the classified down. These would be dumped at a specified time of the month if not renewed by the member.

        I liked this one, but would like to include a way for my non-members can fill in the job ad form externally, Then, our members log in to see the job ad bulletin board. Members only job board. Non members can add their job posting without seeing the whole bulletin board.

        I would like this feature too. It's a great way to add a benefit to our members without much cost. Please add it!

        Thanks for moving my post - but I'm still looking for an answer. Whether a forum is used as we use it (for a sales/wanted area) or as an actual interactive forum, the ability to delete dead wood is still something we need to have. Even for a real 'sales' module I still want to be able to age off old ads or want requests, as well as old forum entries so whether here in this thread or back in the thread where I posted the request it is still on my list !

        "Why do you want to delete old topics?"

        Sorry - just saw your question now - we use the forums as buy/sell/wanted boards. And to keep the number of entry pages manageable, current and also useful we now manually delete anything older than roughly 6 months. An automated process would be a lot nicer.
