1. Allow Contact Profile as an Entry in Site Menu

   Now that members can see and print their membership cards from their profile, we want to give them a less circuitous way to get there, by putting the profile in the dropdown menu.

   In the meantime, a workaround is to create a dummy page that redirects to the profile page. This is done by creating a page with text (ours says "One moment, please" to display something sensible while redirecting) and inserting the following snippet in the text box with the <S> tool:

   The "if (!top.adminpanel)" prevents the redirection from happening when you go back to the page in Admin mode.

   We also use this workaround to implement a link redirecting to pages outside our website, when we want to restrict who can use the link. We just put the restriction on the dummy page, and nonmembers get an error message.

2. Event Registration Report Email(s)

   It would be great if the meeting organizer could setup a date & time for Wild Apricot to automatically email him/her (and a cc list) a report of those that are registered (and have declined) for an event. This should take advantage of the event "report" feature and be at the event level in the email section.

3. Ability to create database fields that can be filled out separately from the membership application

   I'm creating a website for a social organization. They would love to have "extended profile" fields (such as interests, hobbies, etc.) that are not part of the initial membership application. They worry that including a ton of fields in the membership application might increase the barrier for signing up, so these need to be separate from the application so that members can fill them out later.

   The process for applying for joint membership does not work well. The administrator completes the application, but there is nowhere for that person to add their partner or spouse at the time of application. After the main member has been approved, it is near impossible to get that member to add their spouse after the fact, even after I send a personal email asking them to do so. It would be so much more effective to have them add the partner at the same time and have check boxes for items that are the same, like the same address or home phone so they don't have to repeat those entries. We would prefer to approve both members at the same time. Thx.

   Professionalize email Unsubscribe process and let us change opt-out instructions. In many ways the opt-out process is incomplete (at best) and (at worst) amateurish. Professional marketers would be embarrassed at the omissions, awkwardness and inconsistencies as things stand now. And WA wants us to look as professional as it does, right?

   UNSUBSCRIBE LINK TARGET PAGE:

   We can add custom language explaining that we have "two lists" and that the button applies only to the type of email they clicked on. But then the system concludes by saying, "do you want to unsubscribe from email blasts?" Huh? For starters, some of us hate the word "blasts." Would you really want any customer to feel like they've been "blasted" (in any sense of the word), let alone someone who is not satisfied by having received your email? I suggest something like, "from this type of email?" or "the type of email you clicked on?" But most of all, we would like to customize this system text ourselves.

   Why no text-box form field or other form of feedback, so we understand why people leave our list? This is Marketing 101. Although apparently we can add a third-party survey or form, my understanding is that it would take them away from the page. If you make something harder for a user, fewer users will do it. Please get us feedback, without setting up user roadblocks!

   PROFILE PAGE (EMAIL INSTRUCTIONS TAB):

   This, too, is in dire need of explanation, so that people know what they're (un)subscribing. But if we add text above the Edit Profile button, it's there on every tab. As you see, I don't mind long text where it is helpful, but not when it is irrelevant to the user's objective. We want to explain email ONLY when viewing the Email Subscriptions tab.

   The system descriptions of the two email types are not only inconsistent with our custom explanation, they are inaccurately worded, and thus confusing:

   "Automatic event announcements. Receive advance announcements about upcoming events
   Mass emails from administrators, such as newsletters and other important notifications"

   • We call them "routine event announcements." This describes them more from the user's view. That they are "automatic" is relevant only to us. (Same is the situation regarding the word "manual.")
   • We also use manual email to send advance announcements of events, especially major events. So that sentence is a bit misleading, too. And, personally, I hate the word "upcoming" as unnecessarily wordy and corporate-sounding. It's like "use" and "utilize" -- as any high school composition teacher will tell you, they mean the same thing. And when did movie theaters ever show "Upcoming Attractions"? But let's let these two issues slide for now.
   • "Mass emails" -- aren't Automatic Event announcements "mass emails," too?
   • If the point is that these mass emails are from administrators, okay, you know that, but the reader doesn't. And the word "administrators" is wrong -- our manual emails are from our Financial Secretary, or our President, or Corresponding Secretary, or one of our other managers, or simply from the club. "Administrators" do not send newsletters, and are anonymous, impersonal and scary.
   • We'd like to customize these lines, too, which would be better than a big, long preamble above (even if that preamble were limited to the Email Subscriptions tab). For one thing, we would expand the list of examples. (e.g., "... such as newsletters, announcements of very special events, policies and club issues, non-event news, dues notices and reminders, schedule changes, etc."
   • Somewhere (currently only possible in our monster preamble) we need to remind Members that they should not opt out of custom emails. Luckily not many members have, and I suspect the few who did unsubscribe were confused. But ideally, it should not even be possible for a Member, unless they are warned of the consequences, or have to ask an admin or something.

   Yes, it would also be nice to offer a greater range of email options as others here have wished for (such as only one email per event, or a consolidated list of coming events once a week, and a Submit "action" reminder to check our event calendar often, since they won't be learning of events by email).

   But first let's finish the basics?

7. Complete Offline Event Management -Start to Finish

   We run an event weekly in the middle of a forest with about 40-60 attendees, no internet signal is available, wifi or 3/4/5G. As a result, we can't use the event management tool for these events. Attendees expect to be able to turn up and register, so pre-registration is not a workable solution.

   The desired solution; I believe that via the app, we should be able to cache our organization's database with existing members/contacts and capture new guests as they turn up. Once the connection is re-established, the captured data: registrations and check-ins are uploaded?

8. Make it easier for a new member to sign up as part of existing bundle / organization

   A suggestion that I would like to make now is to make it easier for a new member to sign up and be part of an existing bundle. Here is my current workflow, and the problem.

   My organization has individual members, and corporate memberships, which are bundles with 10 possible places, one being the admin.

   As it stand now, when new member signs up, and chooses corporate membership, they are assigned as a new bundle administrator and asked to pay the full corporate membership fee. There is no mechanism to have them be assigned to an existing bundle when they fill out the new member form.
   Another problem that I have with the bundle administration is changing someones bundle status. When a new member signs up, they are assigned to a new bundle as an administrator. In order to make them a part of an existing bundle, the process is extremely unclear. You actually have to change them from a corporate member, which is the bundle membership, to an individual member, and then choose to add them to a bundle. The only choices you are given there is a list of the bundle administrators, which doesn’t help you know which company they are a part of. This part really, really needs some help.

9. Hyperlink New Members in last 7 and 30 Days to List of Members

   The membership lists include how many new members in the last 7 and 30 days, but those numbers are not linkable and thus I do not necessarily know who the new members are. Is there a way? Can those numbers in the Overview be hyperlinked to quickly see the new members?

10. multiple login credentials for a contact

    In our business, a contact is a family. Our members are families who join our club. As many families have 2 or more adults, we have had several requests to support 1+ login credentials for the same member/contact.

    In other words, the Munster family belongs to our club and both Herman and Lily have a login to the same member experience and profile, Grandpa and Eddie have logins with restricted capabilities (view only, can register for events but cannot pay).

11. Geographic member field

    It would be great if you could develop a filter on the membership registration form, which could distinguish members by geographic area. So by postal code or ZIP code (in the U.S.). This is a feature some of your competitors offer, and we really need this feature to provide our service. Thanks!

12. Link between membership level and invoice

    I would like to see updates to membership levels linked to invoice updates. We made errors in intial input of membership levels for several members and when membership level was updated it did not automatically update the invoice.

13. Flexibility on which contact/membership field as the official membership-holder

    Our organization is an association, so our members ARE organizations, as an entity, NOT the indviduals in the contact fields. The work-arounds for this are not working. Currently, if the official contact individual changes for that org, we either have to (a) edit all the fields around the org name to match the new contact's info and lose/archive the old contact info from our records, or (b) create a new membership and lose continuity of membership records.

15. Allow custom External Login sources

    We need the ability to push authenticated users back to WA already logged into their account, like with the Facebook and Google+ integration. The oAuth / Single Sign-on implementation does not allow for the external authority.

    We support only Facebook and G+ as external authentication providers. Currently there is no way to use other providers. However if you want to implement single sign-on, then WA could be used as authentication provider. See http://gethelp.wildapricot.com/en/articles/200 for more details.

16. add an "open" button to pop-up file folder list

    In the files pop-up window view, please create a button that will open a folder. When I am using my iPad, I am unable to open a folder. Tapping the folder just makes the pop-up window enlarge. I am also unable to move down the list past the first few folders in view. If I could click on a folder and then have a button for "next" and "previous" that would move me through the list of folders. Thank you.

    Hi,
    just a suggestion for a future addon, I know you guys are busy :)
    For 'Gadgets' adding multimedia, i think it would be great to add your personal 'YouTube channel' page via a widget. Also for all social media accounts, so when the owner of the social media accounts updates, it reflects straight onto the website and updates automatically like 'feeds'.
    Some things to have as addons for social media widgets
    instagram feed on website
    private instagram feed on website
    youTube channel on website
    youTube playlist on website
    facebook page video
    facebook page feed/reviews
    twitter feed on website
    twitter hashtag feed on website
    anyway, you guys are doing an amazing job. I'm still have a fair bit of work to do before the website is up, won't be till christmas, when we offer our service, but the above will help with the service i offer.
    as its all run via social media. Keeps everyone up to speed.

    Add a "Public - coming soon" option to access level for pages. Currently we use admin only when building pages or for pages that are only turned on for part of the year.

    Additionally make it so any links to those while still in "Public - coming soon" showed a default coming soon page that could be configured rather than the default 404 page. This could work using the admin only option currently available as well but it makes it much more clear to distinguish between a true admin only page and a public page that just isn't ready to be viewed.
