  1. Keep sidebar for website pages closed when I close it

    I rarely use any of the items listed, and would prefer the sidebar stayed closed unless I open it. Is there any possibility of normally keeping it closed?

  2. Website theme description (description, features, constrains) to simplify selection

    It would be great if beside each theme offered, there were a description of its main features and constraints, i.e: dynamic/flyout or static, dimensions of the header (if static - not sure how you would describe it if dynamic), easily replaceable elements, etc.

    Thank you!

  3. Font Changes for links impossible

    After setting color and style for links on our website, it is impossible to change them within a webpage. This is quite infuriating! If you rename your document or link from its orginial name, the system does not allow font changes. Please change this fast!

  4. ADA Compliance

    Wild Apricot websites will be needing ways to make their websites ADA compliant in order to avoid possible lawsuits. This would include, but not be limited to ways to add alt= text to slideshows (you can currently add alt text to individual photos, and you need to use the html on a content gadget to add alt= text to the decorative lines) to comply with ARIA, option to text resize, adjust color to comply with contrast rules, way to provide an audio transcript. This will be a start.

  5. Color and styles by page

    The color and syles are very, very difficult to match to pages.

    You should be able to select each page and change the colors on the page rather than being forced to make global changes affecting many pages inadvertently.

  7. Allow panel on left side of webpages in admin view to be narrower; not just hide or unhide

    I would like to be able to control the width of the panel on the left side of site pages in admin view. I would like the ability to make it more narrow, not just hide or unhide it.

  8. Text Scrolling/Slider

    I have been using a jQuery content slider called "bxslider". This however is now causing the "My Profile", "Invoices and Payments" to not display anything. As a workaround I am using the Wild Apricot Slideshow Gadget. I am taking the texts I wish to display, and saving them as a png file via Power Point. Maybe not the most efficient, but I need something up in a hurry and this worked. A big disadvantage of this method is that you can not have a link in the text, and not very scaleable.

    I would like to suggest that Wild Apricot…

  9. Customize text in cursor hover on a menu item

    Request: the ability to customize the text (perhaps a field on the page set up) that appears when your cursor hovers on a menu item.

    Right now, the text defaults to a repeat of the page title.

    Benefit: could use it to further explain what can be found on that page, making it faster for a user to navigate to where they want to go, perhaps result in fewer pages, cleaner look.

  10. Maintain cursor position switching to/from HTML view

    If you wish to fine-tune something by switching to the HTML view while editing a page it is a major task to find the right place. Can you place the cursor in the same position when switching to/from the HTML view to make this easy?

  11. Links should default to "same window"

    When you add a link, it should always default to the SAME WINDOW. It drives me crazy that I have to double back and revise practically every link since you have default set to NEW WINDOW. I pity the poor website user who navigates a Wild Apricot site and ends up with 30 or 40 tabs open in their browser. WA is the only content management platform I know of that has NEW WINDOW set up as the default. Please change this, or if there is a way I can change my settings, please advise!

  12. When using "mailto" link on a webpage allow insertion of a pre-made subject line

    It would be helpful to be able to configure a pre-made "Subject Line" in the "Mailto" link inserted into a web page. This is normally done in html by insrting a question mark (?) after the user's email address, followed by the word "subject" (without the quotation marks), followed by an equals sign (=), followed by the subject inside a pair of quotation marks. }

    The command (under the covers) would look like: <a href=mailto:john.dow@yourdomain.com?subject="pre-made subject text". Then when we revieve an email we'd have a better chance of knowing the subject and from which page the email…

  13. Support making elements invisible when logged in

    Widgets or pages can be configured to be invisible to the public, i.e. when the user is not logged in. Please allow the reverse to be accomplished. For example, we have a "Join Us" page containing a membership application form, which is useless to logged in members and only occupies valuable space. We would like to make it disappear when logged in. As an alternative, we could have a "Membership" page, which would show the Members' Directory to logged in members and a membership application form to those not logged in. However, this would still require the ability to make…

  14. Macro expansion in website text

    Macros in website content pane?
    The website editor does not allow macros in the page templates where macros for organization short name, address elements, contact Email, contact phone, and office hours would be useful.

  15. Allow Contact Profile as an Entry in Site Menu

    Now that members can see and print their membership cards from their profile, we want to give them a less circuitous way to get there, by putting the profile in the dropdown menu.

    In the meantime, a workaround is to create a dummy page that redirects to the profile page. This is done by creating a page with text (ours says "One moment, please" to display something sensible while redirecting) and inserting the following snippet in the text box with the <S> tool:

    <script type="text/javascript">
    if (!top.adminpanel) {

    try { window.location.href = 'https://tyc.org/Sys/Profile' ; } catch (e) {}…

  16. progressive web app

    Add progressive web app capabilities to some of the themes. This would allow an app like experience of the public site to most member. Most modern browser now supports PWA and Windows 10 support will be even better after the next release. Allowing a web site to be discovered and installed like an app on your machine.

  17. Better and easier ways to sort photos in Photo Albums

    More intuitive, interactive sorting method for the albums; e.g. drag and drop. The alphabetical change a year ago is a big plus. Thank you. But in addition, a drag and drop (or move) of the 'icons' would be great.

  19. Fully Collapsable Mobile Navigation

    (See attachments to make more sense of this post)

    • On a phone browser, top level navigation starts fully closed (as a single 'hamburger menu', but on the first click the WHOLE nav expands, showing ALL levels of navigation (which for a large site, can mean a LOT of scrolling) (see 1st and 2nd screenshot).

    • On a tablet/large phone the navigation is partially closed (see the ‘hamburger menu’ on the right hand side of the screenshot), and ONLY the sections you click on open (see 3rd screenshot).

    • It would be much more useful if the navigation was collapsed on the phone…
