Is this possible now? It's 3rd quarter 2013—thought this feature was available last year? I can't seem to make it work.

    Thanks Jan

We would like to be able to "apply" for an event (via a registration form), then after two days review of the application, if accepted have the person be billed for the event. I can think of two ways to do this.

The first is to have two registration types. The first is "Apply" where a the first registration type (questionnaire) is filled out for evaluation. This would trigger a confirmation of application and information about the approval process email. If approved, we have them register for the event again as a different type, say we call it "Approved for attendance." This would trigger a confirmation email with directions and instruction and an invoice. The attendance count is not accurate, but we can deal with that if we can track it by registration type.

The second is to setup two different events. The first event is Apply for Class. The registration form is not a problem, there is no invoicing at this point. If approved, we could give them a registration code. Have the applicant sign up as a member (because I think this is not automatic when you sign up for an event is this correct?) and gain access to a members only event where they can register with the code. They then register and this triggers an invoice. We would limit the registration to 12 approved applicants and there would be a price tier payment.

Your comments and consideration is appreciated.

We have started analysis for this issue, and it seems that key problem is how Wild Apricot handles level changes close to renewal date. The system is currently designed to collect the full new level amount and set renewal date according to new level renewal policy. All prepaid amounts for old levels are disposed. Moreover, since no prorating occurs, the new level might be effective only for a few days.

As a first step, we suggest to redesign how level change is working and add prorating there:

    - Level would be changed immediately, as now - Remaining portion of old membership level payment will be applied to new level - For new levels with specific renewal date (e.g. annual levels with renewals Jan 1st) apply the pro-rating settings for new applications: - Allow member to pay only a pro-rated amount of the new level fee (e.g. six months before renewal…

This thread and suggestion was started 3 years ago and everyone acknowleges it is highly desireable. Can someone at Wild Apricots comments on the current implementation status and future plans? This is important to our current client.

What we'd like is for Wild Apricot to handle a range of membership dollars. Currently, we have levels of membership at fixed dollar amounts. So if someone is a $500 member, the website automatically prompts that person to renew at the $500 level. But, some people donate in between the levels, say $750 a year. We want to treat that donor as a $500 member and prompt renewal at the $750 level which is in the range of $500 to $1000 membership level rather than $500.

If that is not possible, could we dismantle the automatic prompts for membership renewal for those persons who donate more than the actual membership dollar amount?

    Thanks Jan

Best news I've had all day! I'll be in touch.

My client is interested in a fairly major site redesign, to include:

    1) Changing width of the content area

    2) Going from a vertical to horizontal menu

    3) Relocating the login to the upper right

    4) Using four columns (common in the 920 model)

    5) Adding a slider (not offered by WA, so will have to import a js or html5)

Since WA does not offer a way to copy or backup a site this all becomes very clumsy. Our current site has highly modified CSS. We are also just considering going to a WordPress site because WA is so difficult to update and customize. Perhaps changing templates would work, but I have little confidence in the result and am hesitant to try it out. Could I just switch back without any loss of content/features/function etc? Anyone have any ideas/thoughts of how to approach this problem? Thanks so much.

We also need web forms. Will use for applications to become a facilitator for our program and for general comments. This is another surprise for us–that this very standard interface element is not supported by wildapricots. For us, the data doesn't necessarily need to be stored, but just emailed. Hope you consider this upgrade.

When I past in my Constant Contact embed code, WA modifies it. Any way to prevent this? Or do you have any suggestions?

We are needing to do this now as well. This is a good solution and should be a feature of a system of this type. Is there any movement regarding this update? Again, having to perform very labor intensive tasks which should be a simple automated feature of Wild Apricot makes no sense.

    Thanks. Jan

    Chad,

I see you're new—welcome aboard. But, experienced! Thanks for the tip. I think the member functional page might work, so we'll start there.

I did nothing. I assumed something happened on your end.

Not sure I understand your comments about the font code, our CSS, from google fonts is in the Raw Headers. We are using normal Oranienbaum and normal plug bold Open Sans.

    <link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Oranienbaum|Open+Sans:400,700'; rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>

Well...how strange it is working now if neither of us made any modifications. Thanks.

    See http://thechrysalisgroup43.wildapricot.org/

The logo is in Oranienbaum. The h1 header on the page should be as well.

    Any insight is appreciated.

    Thanks Jan

    Evergny,

Thanks for that suggestion. I use browers inspectos-very handy indeed. As you can see from this screen shot, the h1 tag looks correct in the CSS, but what appears on the screen is not Oranienbaum, it's Times. The logo is Oranienbaum. You can also view the font here: http://www.google.com/fonts/#UsePlace:use/Collection:Oranienbaum. I have assigned Times to h2 and you can see they look the same. If I assign Oranienbaum to the body tag, it looks fine and the font appears visually correct on the screen. Very confusing to me. Thanks for your help. I can send a link if that would help.

I am having mixed results using Google WebFonts. We are using two different fonts. The body works fine. But, when I assign a fot-family to the h tags, it doesn't use the Google font, it uses the second font in the list. Anything special about the h fonts? or any suggests would be helpful. I want to use h tags for SEO reasons.

    Thanks Jan

I am trying to integrate NIVO slider into our site. I think I've got it all setup correctly-it just doesn't work. I've tried putting javascript in the meta tag/raw header section and using PageModel.InlineScripts but neither works successfully. I just see nothing. I also tried including and not including jquery in the script (since you identify it is already used by WA). I've used this slider before, so am confident in the code.

Could you give me some direction or look at my site?

I will only be using the slider on the home page. I think this would be a great tutorial to provide to allow users to build a slider for their site-so common these days. I'd be happy to write it once I get it working.

    Thanks for your help. Jan

You can host any kind of file with WA. I use a Mac. Through the Finder, go to Go/Connect to Server. Enter your login credentials and the interface is just like any other Finder window. Easy to create folders, drag files to your site and reference within the HTML. See the online documentation under File Manager for details ....http://help.wildapricot.com/display/DOC/File+Management

I'd be interested in your font solution.

This system frustrates me to no end. Now there maybe a way to customize, using theme overrides. But your code is not well commented!

I want to do two (what seem like simple things) and have spent two hours on this and still can't figure it out.

    1) change E-mail to email in the login box

    2) Move the word E-mail (or email)

Through CSS I have made some adjustments but the word E-Mail floats oddly above the login box.

I second the comments about digging around the layers of code-can't even see the code-it's so deep.

    Dani,

I love your login box treatment. Are you willing to share how you implemented?

    Thanks in advance.
